Everton are in pole position to sign Southampton striker Che Adams
Everton are in “pole position” to sign Southampton striker Che Adams this summer according to Daily Express journalist Ryan Taylor.
The Daily Mail revealed on 11 August that Everton have made a move for the 26-year-old striker, although they face competition from Nottingham Forest, Wolves and Leeds.
However, Taylor has suggested that the Toffees are leading the chase for Adams, as Frank Lampard looks to add a striker to his squad.

He told GIVEMSPORT (21 August): “I find it astounding that he may leave Southampton, but I’m not sure Leeds will be his destination, I think that Everton are probably in pole position on that front.”
Great addition
Adams is exactly the type of striker that could thrive at Goodison Park and it is a surprise that Southampton could potentially let the striker leave the club this summer.
The 26-year-old has proven himself to be a consistent source of goals wherever he has played and could be a good value signing for Lampard to consider.
He is in the prime of his career and is entering the final two years of his current deal at St Mary’s, which could open the door for a summer move.

Adams will be aware of the issues Lampard is facing in the striking department and could well see a move the Goodison Park as an exciting one for his career.
He will be the main man and focal point in Everton’s attack and could thrive off of service from Anthony Gordon, Dwight McNeil and Demarai Gray.
Lampard’s hunt for a striker has gone on for far too long.
Everton simply have to have a new front man in place for their trip to Brentford on Saturday 27 August.
