Everton agreement now closer as Chelsea prepare £50m + £10m package to sign Anthony Gordon

Everton and Chelsea are now closer than ever to an agreement for the transfer of Anthony Gordon, according to the Daily Mail.

The newspaper has reported on its website that a £50million offer with an added £10million in add-ons is being readied by the Londoners as we enter the final week of the window.

It is said that Chelsea are now growing in confidence of getting the deal across the line, leaving the Toffees with a real dilemma in terms of who would replace Gordon.

Chelsea are set to push hard, with Gordon now emerging as one of their leading targets for the final few days of this window, something Frank Lampard won’t appreciate.

The big question that remains is whether or not Everton can reject that sort of money – do more funds need to be brought in to help us bring in a couple of attackers ourselves?

£60million with £50million of that immediately would unleash Kevin Thelwell with Farhad Moshiri not needing to open up his own pockets yet again.

Everton Farhad Moshiri

Too Late.

Yes, this may be a lot of money for a relatively untested player in the Premier League, but we can’t help but think it would be impossible to let him go.

Especially at this time of the window when it would take a few days for Chelsea to finalise the deal to sign Gordon, which would not see the funds arrive until the end of the week.

That would then leave Everton with a matter of days to bring in not one, but two attackers to replace both the Englishman, as well as Richarlison, with a new striker still to be brought in.

Gordon may want the move, but given that he doesn’t want to force it through at his beloved Everton, he may be forced to stick around after leaving it far too left.

It would be the most Goodison Park thing ever though if we did give the green light, and then fail to get any deal over the line to replace him – please, do not let that happen.
