Everton prepared to match £30m Newcastle bid for Watford forward Joao Pedro

Everton are reportedly prepared to match Newcastle’s £30million offer for Watford forward Joao Pedro as they eye attacking reinforcements.

According to the Daily Mail’s Craig Hope, the Toffees will go all out to compete with the ultra-rich club owned by the PIF for the 20-year-old.

Sky Sports reported on August 23 that Newcastle had tabled a £30million bid including add-ons for the Brazilian front man.

Via Twitter, Hope wrote, “Understand Everton are preparing to match Newcastle’s offer for Watford forward Joao Pedro.”

Everton are in dire need of an attacker to replace Richarlison and they will be signing someone with the Braziilian’s potential for half the fee they generated from his sale.

Pedro may not be as good as the now Spurs attacker but he’s shown at 20 why he is a force to be reckoned with.

Under the right system, he will be a handful to deal with and will only get better with time.

Despite Watford being in the Championship, we believe that this amount is ideal for a player of his calibre and are hoping that the Toffees now loosen the purse strings.

It seems that Anthony Gordon is also going to leave so the money will not be a concern as he can generate close to a record fee from Chelsea.

While Frank Lampard would hate to lose him, he knows that the club is run as a business and offers of that nature may be too hard to turn down for them.
