Everton interested in Brereton Diaz and Garner – Fabrizio Romano
Everton are interested in Blackburn Rovers forward Ben Brereton Diaz and Manchester United midfielder James Garner, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The 23-year-old Brereton Diaz is one of the options the Toffees are looking at to provide competition for England international Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
Garner, 21 is also on the Toffees’ wishlist, as they are in the market for midfield reinforcements and the Manchester United midfielder is expected to leave the club this summer.
Romano added that work is taking place on signing Brereton Diaz but Frank Lampard hasn’t made a decision on the Chile international yet.
Diaz and Garner?
Signing the duo would strengthen the Toffees in multiple positions, and their ages highlight how they would be good investments for the future.
Brereton Diaz, who was originally born in Stoke, scored 22 goals in 38 games for Blackburn last season, and has already started this season picking up where he left off, scoring two goals in five Championship games.
The 23-year-old has also proved to be a hit on the international stage, scoring four goals in 14 games for the Chilean national team, and would boost Everton’s offensive firepower.

Like Brereton Diaz, Garner is also a promising young player, who excelled on loan at Nottingham Forest last season, helping the club win the playoffs and return to the Premier League.
The 21-year-old does not seem to be in Erik ten Hag’s plans and will be allowed to leave the club this summer to the delight of Evertonians.
If the club can complete the double signing, it would be a huge statement of intent and would be a strong end to the transfer window for the Merseyside club.
