Everton want to sign up to three attackers before end of transfer window – Dean Jones

Frank Lampard is keen to sign up to three attackers for Everton before the end of the ongoing transfer window, according to journalist Dean Jones.

The Toffees are in the market to sign attacking players in the final week of the window to bolster their squad for the 2022-23 campaign.

Jones, while speaking to Give Me Sport, said that Merseyside club are not only closing in on the signing of Blackburn Rovers striker Ben Brereton Diaz but that Lampard is keen to bring in as many as three attacking players.

“Everton are closing in on Brereton Diaz, which would be significant given the interest in him this summer,” he said.

“I’m hearing we are looking at a deal worth a guaranteed £17.5m and then add-ons would take it beyond £20m. Lampard wants up to three new forwards before the deadline.”

The words of Jones will be music to ears for Everton fans who would’ve been genuinely concerned about how the lack of signings in the attacking department where there is a clear lack of bodies, especially after the departure of Richarlison who joined Tottenham Hotspur earlier in the summer.

Signing three strikers does seem a bit ambitious but if Lampard manages to get three attacking players at Goodison Park before the end of the transfer window, it will definitely mark the beginning of something very special.

On Friday, the Toffees completed the signing of Neal Maupay from Brighton, with this report suggested that they are also edging closer to completing the signing of Ben Diaz whereas they’ve also been linked with a move for Watford’s young forward João Pedro [90min] who was also attracting interest from Newcastle United.

All eyes are on Goodison Park.
