Frank Lampard makes Dele Alli admission as he leaves Everton for Besiktas
Everton manager Frank Lampard has admitted that signing Dele Alli did not work out and has wished the midfielder good luck on his loan.
The 26-year-old has completed a long move to Turkish club Besiktas after failing to impress at Goodison Park since joining the club in January 2022.
However, Lampard, who has been a big fan of Alli from his days at Tottenham, has now admitted that the transfer did not work out. [Sky Sports]
He said: “I think it is the right thing.
“It has not worked out for Dele here for different reasons, but he can go there now and get games and have success.
“We will review it through the year and at the end of the season, and we will see how it goes.”
Does Dele still have a future at Everton?
Lampard ended the question by revealing that the former England international could still have a future at the club depending on how his loan spell goes.
This is a surprise revelation as the common consensus regarding Alli was that this loan spelled the end for his Everton career.
However, this surprising comment from Lampard does open the door and show a glimmer of hope for Alli and his Everton future.

He may have had a torrid couple of years, but we cannot forget that he was once one of the top young players in the world.
The 26-year-old still has talent but whether he can find the drive and passion to regain his old form is a question yet to be answered.
If the former Tottenham man can start to train with more intensity and find some form again in Turkey, maybe he can save his Everton career.
