Neal Maupay undergoes medical ahead of Everton transfer

Everton are close to signing Brighton striker Neal Maupay, as the player is currently undergoing medical, as per Gianluca Di Marzio.

The Toffees are desperate to sign a striker, and they have reached an agreement to sign him.

The player is set to sign a three-year contract, with the Toffees having an option to extend his deal for a further one year.

Di Marzio wrote on Twitter: “Neal Maupay undergoing medical with Everton from Brighton. Three plus one year contract.”

Superb

The Toffees are in dire need of a striker this summer, following the injury to Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

They have been linked with a host of strikers this summer, but it seems Frank Lampard has finally found his man who can add depth, experience and quality to the side.

As per Dharmesh Sheth and Alan Myers, the deal is reportedly still set to cost £ 15 million. The striker has fallen out of favour at the Amex Stadium and he is in the final year of his contract.

Everton

The 26-year-old Maupay is yet to feature for the Seagulls this term. However, he has got plenty of experience, having scored 26 league goals across the past three seasons.

Considering Everton’s finances, it seems a very smart signing. He is definitely an upgrade over Salomon Rondon, and he is a more mobile striker.

Calvert-Lewin will remain as the primary striker but Maupay would do the job for Frank Lampard as well.
