Mason Holgate raves about Everton summer signings Conor Coady and James Tarkowski
Mason Holgate has shared heaps of praise on Everton summer signings, Conor Coady and James Tarkowski, suggesting they have been “great additions”.
Coady joined in the summer transfer window on loan from Wolves, with the Toffees having the option to sign him permanently.
Tarkowski joined on a free transfer. The 29-year-old has made three starts already in the Premier League, and he has impressed heavily.
“Conor and Tarky have been great additions. They’ve got a lot of experience and they’re good players. That’s exactly what we needed,” said Holgate to Everton Tv.
“That’s what you want from signings, to come in and improve the squad and the team. Their performances have been good and they’ve fitted in very well.
“We have quite a young squad, mixed with experience, and I believe we’ll only improve as time goes on.”
First win
The Toffees have made a poor start to the season, but their performances have been encouraging.
They lost 1-0 against Chelsea and lost 2-1 against Villa. They drew 1-1 against Nottingham Forest in the last league game.
The 1-0 win over Fleetwood Town would give them a huge boost ahead of their clash against Brentford.
Everton need to pick up a win to boost their confidence as they head into the final week of the busy summer transfer window.
The Toffees signed Neal Maupay from Brighton on Friday but they couldn’t register him in time for this game. In any case, Maupay probably needs to spend time with the team in the training ground to get himself fit for the next game.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin is also not far away from returning to the side.
Frank Lampard made it clear that Anthony Gordon will be in the side for this clash. Chelsea are likely to come up with a third bid for him, but as of now, the Toffees haven’t received any offer.
