Everton will look to get deal done for Blackburn Rovers striker Ben Brereton Diaz
Everton will now turn their attention towards signing Blackburn Rivers striker Ben Brereton Diaz before the transfer deadline, as per Jacque Talbot.
The journalist said to GiveMeSport (28 August) that the Toffees are looking to get a deal done for the striker, as he is their “number one” target.
The Toffees have bolstered their attacking options this summer by adding Neal Maupay to their ranks. But the club could be looking for further reinforcements ahead of the 11 pm transfer deadline on Thursday.

Talbot told GiveMeSport: “Yes, if they can’t get Brereton Diaz. He’s not the best player, but he will certainly be one they’re looking at.
“I don’t think he’s the number one target – I think that’s Brereton Diaz, of Blackburn. I imagine that will get done, which makes a lot of sense.”
Crucial next few days
The next few days are crucial for the Toffees.
They have done an incredible business with the resources they had, and Frank Lampard now has a squad to fight for the top-half finish.
However, it can become very interesting if the Toffees lose Anthony Gordon to Chelsea.
If the receive anything around £60m, the club should allow Lampard to reinvest into the squad. Signing another striker and another quality attacking midfielder should be the priority for the club.

It will be interesting to see if they can land the likes of Armando Broja or Conor Gallagher as well in a part exchange deal for Gordon.
The Toffees have made a stuttering start to the season, but they have shown signs of improvement in recent games. If they can add a few quality players to their ranks, they can hope to do well this season.
Diaz has been scoring goals for fun in the Championship for Rovers, and he will be a quality addition to the club.
