Everton winger Anthony Gordon move to Chelsea ‘difficult’ – Fabrizio Romano
Everton are likely to keep winger Anthony Gordon despite strong interest from Chelsea, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.
The 21-year-old is highly rated and has been attracting interest from the Blues throughout the season who have already seen their initial bid rejected [Sky Sports].
Romano, while talking to Wett Freunde, suggested that the deal is looking highly unlikely there is still a gap between what the Toffees are asking for their player and what the London-based club are willing to offer.

“The feeling in the morning was that it’s complicated, it’s difficult,” he said. “There’s still a gap between what Everton are asking for and what Chelsea are offering.
“Everton would like to include some players like Armando Broja in the deal. But Thomas Tuchel is a big fan of Armando so I’m not sure if he will be part of the negotiations so it’s complicated at the moment.
“If Chelsea want to sign Anthony Gordon, then a new offer will be required and timing will be important over the next few days as Frank Lampard mentioned. But it’s not something they can complete by deadline.
“They want to wrap it up beforehand if they want to reach an agreement. So at the moment, it’s complicated, we’ll have to wait and see what Chelsea will decide. But at the moment it is not in the final stages or advanced.”

Good news
The news will be music to ears for Everton fans who would’ve been fearing losing another star attacker in the same window after losing Richarlison to Tottenham Hotspur earlier in the summer.
It was imperative that the Toffees must keep their star man, especially because Dominic Calvert-Lewin is set to be sidelined for quite some time whereas new signing Neal Maupay has not even played a single match for the club.
It is also important that manager Frank Lampard must try and bring in at least another striker before the end of the transfer window as the team dearly need another body who can play in different positions up front.
Gordon has been an Everton academy player and was promoted to the club’s senior team in January 2020.
Since then, the 21-year-old has represented his current club in 64 matches across all competitions where he has managed to score five goals and provided eight assists in the process [Transfermarkt].
