Everton table £50,000 offer for Cork City goalkeeper David Harrington

Everton have tabled a bid to sign young goalkeeper David Harrington from Irish club Cork City, according to the Echo Live.

The Toffees are in the market to sign a number of players to strengthen the overall squad for the 2022-23 campaign.

As per the latest reports, the Merseyside club have placed a bid of £50,000 to sign the 22-year-old in the ongoing transfer window.

However, the report further stated that the player is keen to stay at the club for another season to help the side in a bid to push for promotion.

Everton’s journey over the last few years has been an interesting one. They went from a club that used to depend on their local homegrown talents to buying expensive players who hardly lived up to the hype.

Those decisions nearly came back to haunt the Toffees as the side narrowly managed to escape relegation in the previous campaign.

Therefore, it was imperative that the Merseyside club must return to their basics of investing in young talent who would know the value and prestige of the club when they finally get a chance to wear the blue shirt.
