Everton yet to make formal bid for Blackburn Rovers striker Ben Brereton Diaz

Everton are yet to launch a formal bid for Blackburn Rovers star striker Ben Brereton Diaz, according to Lancashire Live.

The Toffees have been in the market to sign attacking players to bolster their squad for the 2022-23 Premier League campaign moving forward.

It has been widely reported by different outlets that the Merseyside club remain keen on signing the Chile international in the ongoing transfer window.

However, as per the latest report, with just days left in the transfer window, Everton have not launched a bid for the 23-year-old.

Ben Diaz is in the final year of his contract and it has been reported earlier that he has rejected an offer from Rovers to extend his contract.

Must

Everton entered the transfer window knowing they will have to sign at least a striker because one out of Richarlison or Dominic Calvert-Lewin was almost certain to leave the club.

After months of search and efforts, the Toffees finally managed to bring in Neal Maupay who is believed to be a replacement for the Brazil international who joined Tottenham Hotspur earlier in the summer.

But it seems that the Merseyside club might need another forward at least as per Football Insider, the hierarchy has informed Solomon Rondon to find another club before the end of the window.

With Calvert-Lewin already out of action for a considerable amount of time, it will be unfair to put so much pressure on new signing Maupay and therefore, Everton must ensure that they get a striker like Ben Diaz who has been in prolific form in the last 18 months.

The 25-year-old has played 134 matches for Rovers across all competitions where he has managed to score 33 times and provided 13 assists as well [Transfermarkt].
