Rio Ferdinand urges Everton winger Anthony Gordon to show courage and force move to Chelsea
Rio Ferdinand believes that Everton winger Anthony Gordon should show some courage and force a move to Chelsea if he wants to leave the club.
The 21-year-old has been heavily linked with a move away from the club with the Blues leading the charge.
Speaking on the Rio Ferdinand Presents FIVE channel on YouTube, he suggested that if the player wants to leave, he must tell Frank Lampard and Bill Kenwright straight away.

“Is he [Gordon] worth [£60m] that? Probably not right now,” he said. “Could he eventually be worth £60m? Potentially, he has the chance to do that.
“This kid is the crown jewels at Everton at the moment. They don’t want to see him go because of what that will do for the morale of the football club and the fans in the stadium.
“It’s difficult but if he wants to go, he’s got to go in and show the balls to go to the manager and the chairman and say ‘I want to leave’ and see how they deal with that.”
Too important
Everton came into this transfer window knowing that they will have to bring in at least one striker with the future of Richarlison and Dominic Calvert-Lewin remaining uncertain.
However, there was clearly no plan of letting Gordon leave who was so instrumental in keeping the club in the Premier League for at least another season, especially in the window where they already lost the Brazil international and have only just found his replacement in Neal Maupay.

It is important that no matter what happens from now till the end of the window, Frank Lampard must do all he can to ensure that the 21-year-old will stay at Goodison Park at least for another season.
The England U21 international is an Everton academy product and was promoted to the club’s senior team in January 2020.
Since then, Gordon has represented the Merseyside club in 64 matches across all competitions where he managed to score five times and provided eight assists in the process [Transfermarkt].
