Everton to complete Idrissa Gueye as he arrives on Merseyside for medical

Everton are reportedly all set to sign Idrissa Gueye from Paris St Germain as the player has now arrived on Merseyside for his medical.

According to Sky Sports editor Alan Myers, he will be having his medical on Wednesday (August 31) morning before officially being announced as a Toffees player.

This move is finally is going through after it was understood that he wasn’t keen on moving to Goodison Park and also that the PSG hierarchy were looking to make it difficult for Everton to secure his services.

Myers wrote on Twitter, “IGG is safely on Merseyside, medical in the morning.”

At long last

This transfer saga has gone through way too many twists and turns and we’re delighted to see it finally arriving at a conclusion.

He will have his medical today and hopefully, all goes well and he’s announced as a Toffees player in the coming hours.

This is a good deal for the club and an important short-term fix for a team that was desperate for reinforcements in the middle of the park.

With Gueye’s imminent arrival, it does seem unlikely that the club will now sign any more midfielders but an attacker is still understood to be on Frank Lampard’s radar.

Hopefully, they use the next few hours in narrowing in on the one player they want and then submit an official bid to secure his services.

Leaving it this late in the window is never a good sign and they cannot keep making these mistakes if they are to go to the next level.
