Everton face race against time to complete Samuel Chukwueze transfer
Everton will be working very late into the transfer window to sign Villareal winger Samuel Chukwueze, according to Fraser Fletcher.
The Nigerian international has been left as a substitute under Unai Emery with Yeremy Pino and Giovanni Lo Celso commanding the wide areas for the Spanish outfit and he now wants out as a result.
Emery is keen to keep him though as his speed offers a good weapon off the bench but Everton are hoping that they can persuade a transfer into existence before the 11pm deadline.
“As I said yesterday Samuel Chukwueze is Everton target,” Flethcersaid via his personal Twitter account. “Deal not as advanced as some suggests but negotiations have started, will be a late one if it gets done.”
The 23-year-old scored seven goals in all competitions last season which included the equalising goal away at Bayern Munich in the Champions League as they made the semi-finals.
Game-changer
In Anthony Gordon, Demarai Gray and Dwight McNeil, Frank Lampard has three very different wingers already at his disposal.
Gordon is the hometown boy who puts absolutely everything into each game he plays and that has rubbed off on the fans while Gray’s clever runs creates good space elsewhere.

McNeil’s addition brings a weapon of a left-foot that can cross on a sixpence but none of the trio have that raw speed that can see them turn the game around in a flash.
That is what Chukwueze would bring to the club if he were to sign for the Toffees and Lampard needs that extra dimension at his disposal because it has not been the smoothest of starts to the new season.
Having a player that can go from one end to the other in a matter of seconds might be the final ingredient he needs to make Everton a team that can finally compete in the Premier League.
