Everton player rating in Premier League clash v Liverpool
Everton held on for a feisty 0-0 draw against Liverpool in the first Merseyside Derby of the Premier League 2022-23 season on Saturday.
Both sides had a number of chances to take a lead at Goodison Park but because of the heroics of both the goalkeepers, the match ended in a stalemate.
Here are the ratings of the Everton players from the match.

Jordan Pickford – 9
Pickford had an extremely impressive outing where he made a number of crucial saves for the home team, especially in the first-half against Darwin Núñez, thrice in the second half against Roberto Firmino and twice against Fabinio as well. Without his heroics, things could’ve been different.
Nathan Patterson – 7
Patterson looked really good both defensive and offensively. The 20-year-old made some important tackles and was also involved in an attacking move involving Anthony Gordon in the second half but his shot was blocked by Virgil van Dijk
Conor Coady – 8
Coady was really good in the backline where he ended up making 10 clearances. He also scored a goal but his effort was ruled offside.
James Tarkowski – 8
Extremely impressive performance from Tarkowski as he really proved to be the leader Everton were missing in the previous campaign. The 29-year-old made nine clearances to go with three interceptions and also blocked a shot.

Vitaliy Mykolenko – 7
Mykolenko put in an impressive defensive display on the left-hand side. The 23-year-old made a couple of important tackles as well as four interceptions.
Tom Davies – 6
Davies had a decent outing. Looked comfortable on the ball, started some moves and he along with Iwobi helped Onana in forming a formidable midfield.
Amadou Onana – 7
Onana had an amazing outing in his first-ever Merseyside Derby. The 20-year-old not only made some crucial tackles but also provided some notable passes.
Alex Iwobi – 7
Iwobi was really good for the home team. The 26-year-old ran put in an extremely impressive work rate and was involved in nearly Everton’s every move.
Neal Maupay – 6
For the first game, Maupay looked pretty decent but he will be bitterly disappointed as he had a number of chances to open his account for his new club, especially in the second half when he hit the ball straight towards Allison.
Demarai Gray – 8
For a game of this magnitude, Gray was extremely efficient and looked threatening. Gray made a number of impressive runs, including the one where he provided the ball to Maupay but he failed to take advantage of it.
Anthony Gordon – 7
Another impressive performance from young Gordon who made things look extremely easy. He was really good while pressing the ball and had a chance in the first half where he hit the ball straight to Allison.

Substitute
Idrissa Gueye – 5
Gueye had little impact on the match. His most notable contribution was winning a couple of aerial duels.
Dwight McNeil – 5
McNeil had little impact but he was involved in an attacking move where he nearly scored a goal through deflection, only for Allison to make a great save.
