Everton defender Ben Godfrey: Rehabilitation going ‘really well’
Everton defender Ben Godfrey has revealed that his rehabilitation is going “really well”.
The 24-year-old suffered a fibula fracture in his right foot during the league opener against Chelsea on 6 August that is expected to keep him out of action till November.
Godfrey, while talking to BT Sport on Saturday as quoted by Liverpool Echo ahead of the Merseyside Derby, revealed that his recovery is on track because of having “good people” around him.

“All going well,” he said. “It’s tough mentally, being taken away from playing football but I’m cracking on. Got good people around me, physios and stuff, it’s all going well.”
Important
Everton are renowned as a club to nurture young talents over the years and the likes of Wayne Rooney and Anthony Gordon are a few of the prime examples of that.
Knowing that the club’s DNA is to invest in younger players, it is clear to see the importance of Godfrey as the hierarchy would be hoping to turn him into a leader at the back for a good part of the next decade.

The fans and manager Frank Lampard will be hoping that the 24-year-old will return to fitness as the same player he used to be as they would need him to shine in the future.
Godfrey has been an Everton player since the summer of 2020 when he moved from Norwich in a deal worth £24.75 million [Transfermarkt].
Since then, he has represented his current club in 59 matches across all competitions where he has managed 0.8 tackles, 0.7 interceptions and 3.9 clearances per game [Whoscored].
