Everton duo Andros Townsend and Salomon Rondon could be sold on Thursday

Everton duo Andros Townsend and Salomon Rondon could still be sold this summer with Thursday, 8 September, appearing to be the day they could get their moves.

It has been reported that Turkish club Trabzonspor have made a late offer to the Toffees on 7 September in order to secure the services of Townsend.

Football Ingles have also claimed that several clubs are looking to sign Rondon ahead of their transfer deadline which is on Thursday night.

Townsend has not even played a single minute of Premier League football this season due to his ACL injury and at 31, Lampard may rather rely on younger players to rebuild this side.

He was roped in by Rafa Benitez on a free transfer and bar some moments of brilliance every now and then, he’s largely not done enough to stake a claim in the first team.

Any sale of the English attacker would be a profit for the Toffees as they paid nothing to get him so they could very well look to cash in on him.

The Toffees do look pretty well stacked in that area so there is no need to keep Townsend on even for squad depth.

The same can be said about Rondon, who despite the injury to Dominic Calvert-Lewin, has struggled for game time.

The Venezuelan has just not been clinical in front of goal and there’s no good reason why he should be on the bench over a youngster who works twice as hard off the ball.

Both Townsend and Rondon are on the wrong side of 30 so they’re not going to be getting any better with age.

The time to cash in has now arrived for Everton.
