David Moyes delivers verdict on Everton after West Ham defeat
David Moyes has suggested that Everton didn’t play well against West Ham in their Premier League clash on Sunday (18 September) at Goodison Park.
The Toffees picked up their first win of the season on Sunday as they registered a 1-0 victory against David Moyes’ side.
Neal Maupay scored in the second half for the home side that earned all three points.

“We didn’t play well. I’ve got to say, I don’t think Everton played well either. It was a tight game. Did we deserve to win? No. Did we deserve to lose? Probably. Obviously they took a good opportunity and we had two or three pretty half decent ones in the end and we didn’t take any of them,” said Moyes, as quoted by Football London.
Progress
This has been a massive transfer window for both the clubs. West Ham spent big money on signing some fantastic players.
Everton operated on a tight budget in the summer, and despite losing Richarlison, they signed as many as eight new players. One of them is Maupay who joined from Brighton.
After a stuttering start, it seems the new signings have given the Toffees a massive lift.
They are undefeated in their last five games, and have picked up their first win. It wasn’t an end-to-end open game, but the Toffees did well to preseve their lead till the end.

Demarai Gray looked lively throughout, while Frank Lampard will be pleased with the performances of his midfielders.
The likes of Amadou Onana, Idriss Gueye and Alex Iwobi were tremendous in the middle of the park. Iwobi is fast becoming a revealtion under Lampard, and the club reportedly is planning to offer him a new deal.
The Toffees managed 54% of possession, and they can take a lot of positivity from that win.
