Everton star Anthony Gordon’s head has been turned by Chelsea, move still on the cards
Journalist Simon Phillips has stated he has no doubt Chelsea will make another attempt to sign Everton star winger Anthony Gordon.
The 21-year-old is highly-rated in the football community and was attracting interest from a number of clubs in the country, including from the likes of Chelsea [Sky Sports].
Phillips, who writes for Chelsea-News and hosts PodcastTalkChelsea, while talking to Givemesport, suggested that the Blues are still interested in signing Gordon.

“I fully expect Chelsea to go in for him [Gordon] again whether that’s in January or the summer,” he said. “Gordon’s clearly had his head turned by the Chelsea interest and he was pushing for that move.”
Important
Everton entered the season knowing they will lose at least one attacking player and that’s what exactly happened when Richarlison joined Tottenham Hotspur.
However, it proved to be a tough task for the Toffees to find a replacement for him and they only managed to bring in Neal Maupay just days before the end of the transfer window from league rivals Brighton.

Therefore, it will be criminal to let a player of Gordon’s class leave the club in the January transfer window where it is even harder to find good players, as clubs are reluctant to let go of assets in the middle of the season.
Gordon is an Everton’s academy product and was promoted to the club’s senior team in January 2020.
Since then, he has represented his current club in 67 matches across all competitions where he has managed to score six times and provided eight assists in the process [Transfermarkt].
