Big chance for Tom Davies to reignite Everton career after Allan exit
Everton midfielder Tom Davies must grab opportunities with both hands but the Toffees allowed Allan to leave Goodison Park.
The 31-year-old Brazilian, who joined from Napoli for £21million two years ago, has joined Al Wahda in the United Arab Emirates, as confirmed by the Arab club on 25 September.
Allan dropped down the pecking order under Frank Lampard and he has yet to play for the Toffees this season.
According to the Daily Mail (26 September), Allan passed his medical and agreed personal terms over the weekend prior to finalising his contract on Sunday.
Lampard bolstered his midfield this summer by adding Amadou Onana, Idrissa Gueye and James Garner. He has got Abdoulaye Doucoure and Davies as the two other options.
There will be a tremendous competition for places, but Davies now has got a big opportunity to reignite his career.
He has only a year left on his present deal, and he must show his boss that he is good enough to be a regular starter under Lampard.

The 24-year-old has made three starts, and a further two appearances have come from the bench.
Davies is no longer the promising talent, rather he is at the age of his career where he should be playing regularly and making significant contributions to the side.
With Onana and Gueye available, Lampard will have a solid defensive shape in midfield. He needs an attacking-minded midfielder who is equally good at passing and keeping possession.
Garner is highly rated, but he is still very young. Davies must seize this opportunity and impress his manager. He can not only fill the void left by Allan but can do a better job than the Brazilian.
