Everton set to cash in on Salomon Rondon as offer comes in from Sharjah FC

Salomon Rondon is set to leave Everton after the club received an offer from Sharjah FC, according to the Mirror.

The Venezuela international has been linked with a move away from the club after failing to cement his place in the starting XI and being labelled as surplus to requirements.

As per the latest report, the transfer window in the UAE is open till Thursday and Sharjah FC’s bid will lead to the Toffees cashing in on the veteran.

Unsuccessful

Rondon’s departure will mark the end of his unsuccessful tenure in every sense at Goodison Park. The former West Brom striker joined the club in the summer of 2021 as a free agent when he was signed by then-manager Rafa Benitez.

The main purpose of doing that was the Spaniard’s trust in Rondon after his successful time with him during his days at Newcastle United.

However, this time around, the duo did not last long as the former Real Madrid manager was sacked after the Toffees’ poor start to the campaign.

As soon as Frank Lampard joined the club, he opted to trust the already established stars such as Richarlison and Dominic Calvert-Lewin in the forward line.

Moreover, in their absence, the former Derby manager opted to play Anthony Gordon in the false-nine position instead of Rondon, showing how little faith he had in the 33-year-old to lead from the front, thus paving way for him to depart from the club.
