Harry Redknapp names Conor Coady in Premier League team of the week after Everton win v Southampton
Harry Redknapp has named Everton ace Conor Coady in his Premier League team of the week after their win over Southampton this weekend.
The Toffees made it seven games in a row unbeaten and consecutive wins in the Premier League with a come from behind win at St Mary’s, with Coady scoring his first goal for the club since joining from Wolves on loan.
And speaking to BetVictor, Redknapp handed the England international a spot in his team of the week and said that it looked as though he’d been at Goodison Park in the famous blue shirt for years.

“I’m a big fan of his,” he said. “He looks like he’s been wearing that Everton jersey for years.
“That was another steady performance, his presence in the backline makes such a difference, and of course he has a huge threat at the other end, as we saw on Saturday.”
Quality
Has there been a better signing in the Premier League this season than Conor Coady? Maybe Erling Haaland, but Coady cost peanuts.
To come in on loan to a club where you’ve supported their rivals for your entire life, and put your body on the line week in and week out, and improve the team ten-fold is just superb.
His leadership qualities have been second to none and the partnerships he’s shown with the likes of Vitalii Mykolenko and James Tarkowski mean Everton have got the best defensive record in the league at this point.
It’s been a super season so far and the team has come a long way from battling against relegation last year under Lampard.
With Coady tied down until next summer at the very least, it’s hopefully a sign of things to come for his Goodison career and we couldn’t be happier with him at the club.
