Journalist shares latest update on Everton takeover talks with Maciek Kaminski

Maciek Kaminski remains in talks with Farhad Moshiri to buy Everton, with the current owner open to financial support according to the Liverpool ECHO.

The Toffees have been in financial trouble since Alisher Usmanov was struck off by authorities after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, with FFP restrictions causing big trouble in the transfer market.

But with Moshiri keen to deliver the new stadium at Bramley-Moore, conversations about a potential sale are “ongoing” but Joe Thomas told a fan during a Q&A on the Echo website [4 October] that there has been no significant progress since the summer.

“There is still an interest in Everton from Maciek Kaminski, though my understanding is there has not been any significant progress on his ambitions since the summer – when, of course, Farhad Moshiri said the club was not for sale,” he said.

“Moshiri has said he is interested in finding support in financing Bramley-Moore, so conversations about the club, the stadium and investment will be ongoing.

“Where they could lead, I don’t know, and currency fluctuations that improve the dollar against sterling will only increase the buying power of a potential US investor.

“But while I couldn’t rule anything out I think Moshiri is keen to deliver the stadium if he can.”

Interesting

There is clearly a nice little plan formulating in the background to get some extra finances in at Everton soon, and Kaminski seems to be the best option for it as it stands.

Everton

Moshiri wants to deliver the new stadium and keep the club in the Premier League so it’s worthwhile having that stadium, but he clearly needs helping funding it all.

After Usmanov was kicked to the curb, he’s been left in a hole and now wants more help from somewhere else so the club can get back on track. On the pitch it’s working, because there is a clear plan and structure in place.

Now it’s time to get that off the pitch and there is obviously confidence from the Kaminski camp that they can get a deal done to get in on the act at Everton or they wouldn’t still be talking all these months later.

The quicker it happens the better for everyone, but it does seem to be heading in a more positive direction now which can only be seen as a positive.
