Everton face delay in signing Cork City goalkeeper David Harrington
Everton will have to wait to sign Cork City goalkeeper David Harrington after he suffered a shoulder injury, according to Irish Independent.
The Toffees have been interested in signing the player for a while now and a deal was said to have been agreed in principle for around £88,000.
As per the latest report, the move will be delayed as Harrington is now set to undergo surgery, something Everton want to test after completion with a full-scale medical.

One for the future
Everton have completed the cycle of going through different phases, trying different things in terms of recruitment to achieve greater success.
Not that long ago, the Toffees were a club based on signing players who can just keep the side pushing for Europe, a model that was relatively successful.
Then came a change in ownership and there was a lot of money spent on players who were big names, and ultimately came with big wages, a strategy that failed miserably.

However, this season, Everton is like a new club altogether. Their performance under the leadership of Frank Lampard was extremely efficient in the transfer window where they made numerous key additions to the squad.
Signing a player like Harrington will be a step in a similar direction, after all, he is not a big name but his performances in the second tier of Irish football have been nothing short of spectacular where he has managed to keep 14 clean sheets in just 29 matches [Transfermarkt].
