Ex-Liverpool player Jose Enrique mocks Everton as unwanted milestone reached
Former Liverpool defender Jose Enrique has mocked Everton for reaching 10,000 days since their last major trophy win.
Everton have been trophyless since their 1995 FA Cup triumph when they beat Manchester United 1-0 at the old Wembley Stadium courtesy of a goal by Paul Rideout.
Enrique, who only ever won a League Cup in his time at Liverpool, took to Twitter to mark the occasion with an edited image of Frank Lampard in front of an almost-empty trophy cabinet.

He sarcastically said: “It has been exactly 10,000 days since Everton last won a trophy!
“Incredible achievement.”
Who’s counting?
Yes, it’s been a long time since we last won a trophy. We’re quite aware of that fact without Kopites using Microsoft Paint to make hilarious edited images.
It’s been a tough 27 years but we’ve had some very proud moments along the way and it’s surely only a matter of time before we’re pushing for silverware again.
We don’t care if it’s a League Cup, a trophy is a trophy and it will be celebrated as though England have won the World Cup if we do get one.
Moving to the new stadium should help and once our FFP issues subside, we should be able to start building a squad capable of challenging for European spots in the Premier League.
Right now, it feels as though it’s about making do and stabilising after a brush with relegation last season.
Dropping down to the Championship is unthinkable for Everton but under Lampard’s leadership, it doesn’t seem as though we’ll be in that position any time soon, at least.
As for Enrique, it’s a bit weird for someone who was so poor for Liverpool to tweet about us.
He seems to be quite active on Twitter these days, yearning for attention.
