Paul Merson predicts draw for Everton v Manchester United clash

Sky Sports pundit Paul Merson has predicted Everton to secure a draw in their next Premier League match against Manchester United.

The Toffees are enjoying a very good start to their campaign and would like to continue that when the Red Devils come to Goodison Park on Sunday, 09 October.

Merson, in a column for Sportkeeda, stated that he cannot see United beating this Everton side who have “frustrated” other teams this season.

“I don’t see Manchester United winning this game,” he wrote.

“Everton are notoriously hard to break down and tend to frustrate teams like they did so against Liverpool. Everton 1-1 Manchester United.”

Everton fans have gone through a bit of a rollercoaster ride in the last few seasons where they always started strongly but ended up being mid-table at best.

Last year was the worst for the Toffees as they remained involved in the relegation battle and narrowly managed to avoid the drop.

This season, once again, the Merseyside club have started brightly where they have suffered just two defeats in the first eight matches and have won in their last two outings against West Ham United (1-0) on 18 September and Southampton (2-1) on 01 October.

However, there is something different about the Toffees this season which was never the case over the last few years and that is how difficult they are to break down.

Merson is right to point that out and Everton fans will be hoping that the players will continue producing similar kinds of performances in the matches to come.
