Everton still hot on tail of Real Betis midfielder Guido Rodriguez
Everton have not backed off in their pursuit to sign Real Betis midfielder Guido Rodriguez after missing out this summer, according to Fichajes.net.
The 28-year-old has been on the Toffees’ radar for the previous couple of transfer windows but he remains a Real Betis player for now with his contract ending in 2024.
Everton are not the only Premier League side interested in signing the Argentina international with local rivals Liverpool and table-topping Arsenal in the hunt.

He is showing a reluctance to sign a new deal with the La Liga side though which may see Betis regrettably allow him to leave in January if an acceptable offer comes in.
They are likely to ask for £26.3million to allow Rodriguez to leave in the winter with that price easily negotiable down and it could be even less in the summer when his remaining contract length dips below one year.
Bigger fish to fry
As nice as it is to be linked with players that the current Premier League leaders want, the midfield is now a position where Everton don’t need to strengthen in any desperate measure.
Amadou Onana, Idrisaa Gana Gueye and James Garner all came in during a hectic end to the summer window just gone and the latter is yet to make his debut thanks to Alex Iwobi’s form.

Lampard needs to get his attacking options sorted first and foremost with arguably a lack of goals being the only thing making life difficult for Evertonians right now.
Neal Maupay has added some bite to the attack while Anthony Gordon, Demarai Gray and Dwight McNeil have been rotating around in the wide areas.
Another top-class winger to cement their place in the side might be top of the list of wishes for Lampard but everywhere else is fairly settled now that the form has picked up drastically.
