Salomon Rondon can start packing his bag already as Everton exit on the cards

Everton striker Salomon Rondon has struggled to make a strong impression this season, and he should start packing his bags already.

Rafa Benitez signed him in the summer of 2021 as he needed depth in their forward department.

With cash not available in plenty, the Spaniard was looking at a free market and signed Rondon, a player he has previously worked it.

Rondon made 23 appearances in all competitions last season, with 20 of them coming in the Premier League alone.

However, most of them have come from the bench. It comes as a surprise, considering he was fit for the entire campaign and should have played more games as Dominic Calvert-Lewin was injured for a long spell.

Even in Calvert-Lewin’s absence, Benitez and Frank Lampard preferred to use other players upfront.

Rondon is an experienced player who has 91 caps for Venezuela. Like a model professional, he has accepted his situation at the club and contributed to the best of his ability.

This season, he has made six appearances in the Premier League, with only one start. Clearly, Lampard doesn’t see him as someone who can make a big impact.

It’s not like there is a lack of effort from him. He is a sincere worker in training and during matches, he has shown that he is ready to put in shifts.

The only problem with him is that he is not what Lampard needs at the moment. The Toffees boss added depth in the forward department by signing Neal Maupay, a mobile striker.

Rondon is almost certain to leave in January. Everton can either sign a new striker or look to promote young talents like Ellis Simms and Lewis Dobbins, both are out on loan though.
