Mark Lawrenson predicts result of Everton clash v Tottenham

Everton will travel to north London to face Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League on Saturday (15 October).

The Toffees are heading into the game on the back of a 2-1 defeat against Manchester United, and they have another tough game this week.

Mark Lawrenson is surprised by the progress shown by Frank Lampard’s side in recent months, but he predicts a 2-0 win for the home side.

“Everton are going well which has been a bit of a surprise for all of us, they’ve been really solid. Spurs had a good win in the Champions League during the week and Son Heung-min’s back amongst the goals. They’re a bit hit and miss but I’m pretty sure they’ll beat Everton. Tottenham 2-0 Everton,” said Lawrenson to Paddy Power.

Tough game

All eyes will be on Richarlison who will face his former team this week.

The Brazilian joined the north London club in the summer on a big money transfer fee, and has been quite well.

The Toffees have moved on as well. They have signed a raft of new players, and Lampard has been able to add depth and quality to the side.

The Toffees have lost just once in their last eight games, and they are a hard team to beat now.

They have been solid at the back, while the addition of Idrissa Gueye and Amadou Onana in midfield has added extra steel and grit in the middle of the park.

Having said that, the Toffees need to perform extremely well away from home. In general, Lampard has a very poor record away from home, and that needs to improve.

The Toffees have already picked up an away win this season, 2-1 against Southampton and Lampard will be hoping for a similar result.
