Harry Redknapp names Everton duo Conor Coady and Alex Iwobi in Premier League team of the week
Harry Redknapp has named Everton duo Conor Coady and Alex Iwobi in his Premier League team of the week after the 3-0 win over Crystal Palace.
The Toffees turned in a blistering performance at Goodison Park to see off Patrick Vieira’s side in their best game of the season, but two players stood out more than others to former Spurs boss Redknapp.
Speaking to BetVictor [24 October], it was Coady and Iwobi who were the pick of the bunch and he was quick to name them in his side and said he was delighted to see Everton improving with every game.

“Again, he [Coady] led his defence superbly,” he said.
“Everton are slowly getting it together, and it’s no surprise to me that this man has become such a key player. A born leader.
“That’s the best I’ve seen Everton play for a while. The fans will be happy, and in Alex Iwobi, they’ve got someone that’s in great form.
“Two assists on the afternoon is great work by anyone’s standards. It’s good to see the Toffees on the up.”
Brilliant
There were several question marks over the summer window that Everton had, not because of who came in but more because of who didn’t.
But what Frank Lampard has managed to do this season is build a side that has become brilliant defensively, much to the thanks of Coady and James Tarkowski, as well as a threat from midfield.

Iwobi is having the best season of his career, not just at Everton, and is vital to everything good the team does, while the team seemingly found a way to make the attack work in the most recent game.
It’s now about finding consistency in the performance of the team and getting more players up to their level to keep pushing up to the table.
Everton fans finally have something great to look forward and players that they love to see in the shirt, so everyone is looking forward to each game and with performances like Saturday’s there are more good moments to come.
