Finance Expert: Farhad Moshiri has time to find Everton investment for new stadium
We’re delighted to welcome football finance expert Dr Daniel Plumley as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Everton...
Dan Plumley has insisted that Farhad Moshiri has given himself time to find more new investment to help with the Bramley-Moore Dock stadium build.
The Finance Expert admitted that a £500million construction deal, as well as a £150million promise of his money, means that there is breathing space.
Problems have been mooted though that the small print of any investment deal could halt proceedings, with Moshiri preferring minority investment rather than a majority.

“I think given the wealth of the owner, there is a little bit of time you can factor in,” he exclusively told Goodison News.
“We know Everton have had problems on an operational cost level, we know losses have been high and we know that the stadium has been a little bit of a challenge.
“They have agreed some of that costing, there is a deal in place for around £500million with a construction firm. Moshiri has said he’s going to put in £150million of his own money too so his overall wealth gives some breathing space as it doesn’t seem to be in an absolute desperation state yet, it’s always been a case of there are problems but he’s still 100% committed, that’s what is coming out of the club.
“Whenever that is there, that’s less of a problem. The problem is if he is not committed and or, he is struggling with his own personal finances. That gives it time to get a deal done, also the terms of the deal, as he would prefer minority investment rather than majority, so I think that is a sticking point.”

Moshiri is certainly not rushing into this.
The look for investment for the new stadium has seen taken centre-stage in recent months with takeover talk coming alongside that at Everton.
A full takeover has never really been on the cards, but that hasn’t stopped the likes of Maciek Kaminski and Jeffrey Soros from trying their luck from America.
Moshiri has made it evidently clear he wants to see out the new stadium, what happens after that? Only time will tell.
