Gary Lineker blown away by Jordan Pickford as footage emerges from Everton v Fulham
Gary Lineker was left thrilled by Jordan Pickford’s two early saves in the Everton v Fulham game on Saturday which ended goalless.
The hosts attacked and had decent chances to score early on, but Pickford was up to the task and pulled off cracking stops to maintain his clean sheet.
The England number one was undoubtedly one of the best players on the pitch and played a key role to give his side a point.
Looking at the saves, Lineker then took to Twitter to write, “2 stunning saves from Jordan Pickford just seconds apart.”
Man of the Match
The England number one was in top form as he made six saves and kept the hosts out and denied them three seemingly easy points.
Everton offered very less of an attacking threat so the chances of them getting an equaliser were extremely low.
However, Frank Lampard will consider this as a key away point and knows that it would not have been possible without his star goalkeeper.
Pickford is often criticised for not doing enough for his club in comparison to the Three Lions, but he proved on Saturday why he’s good domestically as well.
We cannot wait to see how he fares at the World Cup and whether or not he can actually better his world class performances from Euro 2020.
He’s leading on and off the pitch and there’s no doubt why he’s so well loved by the Everton fans and pundits who absolutely wax lyrical over him.
