Sky Sports pundit tells Everton where to send Jarrad Branthwaite amid PSV loan doubts
We’re delighted to welcome former Everton striker Kevin Campbell as our exclusive columnist. Each week the former Toffees captain will be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Goodison Park…
Jarrad Branthwaite should be brought back from PSV and the Everton defender found a new loan in England, according to Kevin Campbell.
The centre-back, 20, has spent the first half of the season in the Eredivisie and made a total of 10 appearances in all competitions, but according to Eindhoven Dagblad on 29 October he could be recalled in January due to fears over his playing time, as he has only featured in half of the club’s league games, completing 90 minuted three times.
Despite a good showing in the Europa League against Arsenal on 27 October Sky Sports pundit Campbell feels it is pretty simple, that the youngster is there to play and if he isn’t getting enough of an opportunity the Toffees need to find him somewhere else to do so.

Speaking exclusively to Goodison News he said of ending the Dutch loan early: “You can do that. I thought he did pretty well in the Europa League against Arsenal. Arsenal were awful to be fair but he had a good game.
“Of course you can say [cut the loan short] if I’m honest with you.
“Maybe he needs to be in England. Get him England, get him playing, so maybe that might be cut short.
“If he’s not getting the game time, that’s why he’s there, so if he’s not getting it get him closer to home so you can keep an eye on him closer.”

It’s a crowded house in the centre of defence at Goodison Park currently, since Conor Coady and James Tarkowski arrived in the summer and nailed down the starting places.
Even allowing for the constant injuries at the position there is still Mason Holgate and Michael Keane available before Yerry Mina and Ben Godfrey complete their recoveries.
While Branthwaite’s long-term Everton future is brighter than at least a couple of the aforementioned names, game time is the most important thing for him at the moment, so if he can get more of it in Eindhoven there is no need to change anything, but if not then another move is surely the best option.
