Dominic Calvert-Lewin picks up hamstring blow as four Everton players now ruled out – Injury Expert

Dominic Calvert-Lewin is back on the sidelines for Everton alongside three other top talents as the Blues gear up for a Carabao Cup clash against Bournemouth, according to Ben Dinnery.

The injury expert has suggested that Calvert-Lewin’s injury is currently being assessed and has given no time frame for the forward’s return.

Calvert-Lewin will be joined by Andros Townsend, Ben Godfrey and Yerry Mina who are also out of action although the latter two could return before the World Cup break.

Sharing the news on his Premier Injuries page, the injury expert suggested that Calvert-Lewin is completely ruled out of Everton’s next game against Bournemouth.

Andros Townsend was also confirmed to be completely out of the fixture with Ben Godfrey and Yerry Mina both facing a 25% chance of playing.

Not again.

Okay, it’s now been fully confirmed that the Toffees can’t rely on Calvert-Lewin anymore. It’s unfortunate, but the forward has become far too injury prone and Everton need answers up top.

The Blues must make a move for a forward in the January transfer window, or they risk being embroiled in another relegation scrap.

Neal Maupay isn’t up to the job of carrying the weight of goal expectations on his back and now Calvert-Lewin looks set for another lengthy spell on the sidelines.

Performances need to drastically improve but Everton hasn’t been helped by the fact they have no out-and-out goalscorer at the club.

Ben Brereton-Diaz looks like a solid option for the Toffees and could be available for a fairly cheap price compared to other talents on the market.

It’s not looking good for Everton right now, Frank Lampard needs some fresh ideas and a huge improvement in his team’s standard of play.
