Everton could now face bill worth hundreds of millions in latest Bramley-Moore Dock update
Everton could be facing a huge bill worth hundreds of millions of pounds for the Bramley-Moore Dock Stadium, according to The Guardian.
Farhad Moshiri is currently on the lookout to find a backer to provide much-needed funds to complete the project after Alisher Usmanov had his assets seized following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
Everton are now seemingly cornered into finishing this project regardless of having the outside funding or not as The Guardian believe they will have to repay the council should they not complete the arena.

That eventuality would leave a huge bill behind for the Toffees and Moshiri with nine-figure sums potentially being owed to Bramley-Moore Dock if they don’t move into the new stadium having completed the build.
Everton are doing this differently to how new stadiums are usually built with The Guardian being told that funds are usually secured before any work begins on a project.
Big problems
Moshiri had better have extremely large and deep pockets to get this complete if he can’t find the necessary backing because he has taken the football club down this blind alley by himself.
Frank Lampard can forget about having a big January transfer budget or even a significant one next summer unless somebody or a company comes in and puts money behind the new stadium.

The move, should it eventually happen, will be a huge lift for the football club and could easily propel them towards becoming a regular top-half finish and potentially even European challenges from time to time.
West Ham United have shown how much a new ground can benefit the club and bring in a higher calibre of players even though it took a year or two for the fanbase to settle.
But all of that will become obsolete if the funding isn’t found and Moshiri has to pay the site back for the damage already caused as the stadium is built daily.
