Everton want Mohammed Kudus over Boulaye Dia – Sky Sports pundit
We’re delighted to welcome former Everton striker Kevin Campbell as our exclusive columnist. Each week the former Toffees captain will be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Goodison Park…
Mohammed Kudus is the “number one” for Everton over Boulaye Dia as they look for attacking reinforcements, according to Kevin Campbell.
The Toffees made a big push to sign the Ghana and Ajax star in the summer and remain interested in his services now, after two goals in the group stage in Qatar, but are also interested in the scorer of Senegal’s first at the tournament.
Sky Sports pundit Campbell is clear that Kudus is the top priority of their pair for Frank Lampard and a Toffees team that are struggling for goals.

He exclusively told Goodison News: “It is a lot different sometimes, international football.
“If you’re thinking [Dia] or Kudus, I think Kudus is the one where Everton have really stuck their colours on.
“The fact the he wanted to come but was denied by Ajax, that tells you quite a lot about what could and should be happening.
“I know Everton are going to get linked with a lot of players, but I think they know who they’re after.
“Kudus is the number one.”

Kudus is unsurprisingly the preference given that he looks like he is developing into a genuine attacking star in world football.
But that makes him the trickier signing, given that he will cost significantly more and has been attracting interest from the likes of Liverpool and Tottenham, although the fact that the player himself wanted to move to Goodison has been tipped as making Everton favourites for him still.
Dia has a good record from his time in Ligue 1, and is performing well in Serie A for Salernitana who have an option to sign him from Villarreal, so could be a solid second choice if the Ajax man proves impossible.
