Everton could be preparing for Anthony Gordon exit as Ismail Sarr bid prepared
Everton could be preparing for a potential January exit of Anthony Gordon as they plot a bid for Watford winger Ismaila Sarr after the World Cup.
The Toffees were able to see off heavy interest from Tottenham and Chelsea in the summer around a £60m deal for their academy starlet, as they managed to survive with just selling Richarlison to Spurs instead.
But with Frank Lampard’s side struggling to score goals this season, hitting just 11 goals in 15 Premier League games so far, they are desperate to strengthen the final third of the pitch.

Reports suggest that the club are preparing a £35m bid for Watford winger Sarr in January, who starred during the World Cup for Senegal and was close to an exit in the summer before the Hornets opted to keep their top players at the last minute.
But with Gordon attracting interest from Spurs and Chelsea again ahead of the winter window following a poor season so far, where he’s picked up more yellow cards than goals and assists, they need to identify a replacement.
It was previously understood that Gordon was deemed as untouchable at Goodison Park, but his performances this year have seen many fans come to terms with a sale if it were to happen and he’s no longer a guaranteed starter under Lampard.
If Sarr is available for around half the amount that they’re able to sell Gordon for to a Premier League rival, then most fans would surely snap the hand off whoever is making the offer.

Sarr is direct and speedy, with a good eye for goal and plenty of creativity, as well as being able to play on both wings and as a central striker.
He’s older than Gordon, but also more mature and while he hasn’t quite hit the levels that many have expected him to in recent years, his talent is clear. Being surrounded by better players will certainly help him shine.
After making a strong decision to keep hold of Gordon in August, Everton could now be relenting and should interest reignite in January don’t be surprised to see them cash in and pull the trigger on Sarr quickly in a deal that most people will be delighted by.
