Everton shareholder turning could be beginning of end of Farhad Moshiri’s Goodison Park era

Farhad Moshiri could be driven out of Everton should his popularity continue to drop among the club hierarchy as well as the supporters.

Recently, the Toffees fans called for the axing of club chairman Bill Kenwright, but shareholder Mike Parry has come out to back him publically.

Kenwright, the Liverpool-born film producer has been the Toffees’ chairman since 2004 and bar a few bright moments, has been largely unfavourable among the fans.

Via Twitter, Parry wrote, “Well, the fans who put their name to that letter must be eating magic mushrooms on toast for breakfast.

“Bill Kenwright has single-handedly stopped Mr Moshiri from reducing Everton to ashes, Leeds/Portsmouth style. His control of our mighty club has been reckless and chaotic.”

While it can be argued that Kenwright’s time at the club is also coming to an end, fans surely would want to see Moshiri gone sooner.

He has overseen an era of heavy spending, but it’s not been directed in the right places and he’s made an absolute mess of this once-iconic football club.

Given the growing negativity surrounding his reign and all the takeover talk, he could be forced into cashing in as soon as possible.

Moshiri knows as well as anyone how impactful relegation will be and the valuation of Everton could even halven if that happens.

Seeing how well FSG have managed to make their investment pay off at Liverpool, the Goodison Park faithful will certainly see this as an opportunity missed for Moshiri and will be hoping that the new owners can bring this club back to the glory days.
