Matheus Martins update emerges on Everton transfer pursuit of Watford attacker Ismaila Sarr

Everton pursuit of Watford attacker Ismaila Sarr does hinge on them signing Matheus Martins from Fluminense but it will not be forlorn because of it.

According to the Mirror on 9 December, the Hornets want to wrap up a deal for the 19-year-old who is expected to cost £9million.

It’s understood that the Toffees will have to shell out a fee in the region of £35million if they are to secure the 24-year-old’s services in the January window.

Everton

Worth it

Everton are in dire need of game changers and few will be available in January that are likely to be open to moving to Goodison Park.

Sarr has been on the club’s radar since the summer so it’s pretty evident that he’s a player Frank Lampard admires.

He was at the World Cup with Senegal but is done with his international responsibilities as England knocked his nation out.

This opens the door for the Toffees to begin negotiations with him and see if he’s keen on moving to Merseyside instead of the other clubs keen on him.

He’s certainly worth that fee as he’ll be valued at nearly twice that in a few years if he keeps improving in the same manner as he has in the last few years.

It’s undoubtedly going to be a transfer saga that’s bound to have its twists and turns and we’ll be following all of them religiously.
