Everton eye Marcus Thuram transfer, contract will expire this summer
Everton are keeping a watchful eye on Borussia Monchengladbach attacker Marcus Thuram, according to former GOAL journalist Ignazio Genuardi.
The France international has made a handful of appearances at the Qatar World Cup but his contract at Borussia Park is due to expire at the end of this season.
Genuardi claims that Bayern Munich have not made a £5.1million per year offer for the 25-year-old despite contrary reports and that the Toffees are among the Premier League clubs in waiting.
“While some rumours evoke an offer of 6 M€ (£5.1million) net per year from Bayern Munich, there is nothing certain concerning Mr Thuram (Borussia Mönchengladbach). Ardently courted in Italy and England, the Habs also have a strong admirer in La Liga,” he said via his personal Twitter account.
“As a reminder, the French international striker is in no hurry to move, who will be free next June. Like some English clubs like Newcastle, Everton and Tottenham, a Spanish formation could still try to grill the competition this winter.”
No-brainer
If Thuram is going to be available for absolutely nothing then Everton have to make every possible effort to get that deal sorted in January when they can begin making Bosman approaches.
Even though he is not a starter for Didier Deschamps’ France side at the World Cup, he is still good enough to be selected and that is a very big indicator that he has bags of talent.

Wolfsburg sporting director Marcel Schafer even described him as “world-class” on 16 October after they drew 2-2 with Gladbach thanks to a brace from Thuram [Get Football News Germany].
Frank Lampard would be utterly mad not to want somebody with such a glowing recommendation in his locker and the fact he could be a World champion in less than a week should be the final straw he needs.
Kevin Thelwell has to ask Farhad Moshiri for every penny he has to try and entice Thuram to Goodison Park and a loan until the end of the season would be even better.
