Everton scared by Watford asking price for forward Ismaila Sarr
Everton have been left scared by Championship club Watford’s asking price for forward Ismaila Sarr, according to Italian outlet Tutto Udinese.
The 24-year-old looks to be on the brink of leaving Watford in January after an impressive FIFA World Cup campaign with Senegal.
The report suggests that Watford’s £35m valuation of Sarr “scares” Everton and the Merseyside club have been put off by the price tag put on Sarr’s head.

“Everton would have asked for information but the assessment made by the London club (35 million pounds, over 40 million euros) scares Toffees,” as quoted by Tutto Udinese.
The same report goes on to suggest that Sarr may be moved to Watford’s sister club Udinese if a deal can’t be reached with the Toffees.
“If an adequate offer does not arrive, he could also be diverted to Udine.”

Oh dear.
£35million? Scared of £35million? Really Everton, let’s hope the Italian media outlet have got this one completely wrong because if they’re right, the Blues stand no chance in the January transfer window.
The price tag actually seems like a fairly reasonable one to be placed on Sarr’s head in today’s overpriced market, he’s a top talent.
Sarr is evidently desperate to leave Watford and the Toffees need to pounce on this golden opportunity, he’s far too good to be playing in the Championship.
Granted, £35million may be steep for a player in the second tier of English football, but Sarr’s abilities are way beyond this level and that’s clear to see.
If Everton are serious about catapulting themselves up the league table, they need to pay transfer fees for talents like Sarr, they have paid far more for much worse talents before.
If not, the club may as well just accept defeat, it is virtually impossible to compete in the English top flight unless you splash some cash every now and again.
With luck, the Blues can get a Sarr deal over the line, he’d transform the Toffees attack in a positive way.
