Everton move ahead with plans to sign Real Valladolid sensation Ivan Fresneda

Everton have already made a move to sign Real Valladolid sensation Ivan Fresneda, according to AS.

Fresneda, 18, is making tremendous progress at the La Liga club and he is seen as one of the “biggest promises” in Europe at the moment.

A frantic race has broken out to sign him in recent weeks and scouts from the Premier League, Serie A and Ligue 1 have been keeping a close eye on his development.

Everton

The youngster signed a contract extension where his release clause was just £8.7m. However, the value has risen to £25.8m after he made six appearances in the first team.

If he goes on to play 22 games, his value will skyrocket to £38.7m, which will be beyond the reach of many clubs.

Interesting

The youngster is an exciting right-back and he is being chased by several clubs including Everton’s Premier League rivals Newcastle.

He has made four starts in the league this season and a further two appearances have come from the bench.

The youngster has made 2.5 tackles and managed 1.3 interceptions, as per Who scored.

Fresneda has an eye for making intelligent passes, and he manages 1.5 key passes on average.

Everton

Do Everton need a right-back? Nathan Patterson has been superb this season, and he is likely to become the number one choice under Frank Lampard.

Seamus Coleman is still around and he can do the bit-part job quite efficiently. But, the Toffees will need a long-run solution, and the young Spaniard can be a valuable addition to the club.

Obviously, the Toffees won’t pay the price quoted, and the club will have to negotiate properly to strike a deal, especially with the Magpies also keen.
