Everton avoid transfer blunder as Wolves set to win race for forward Matheus Cunha
Everton are set to avoid a transfer blunder as Wolves look ready to clinch the signature of rumoured Blues target Matheus Cunha, according to TalkSPORT.
It was reported by transfer guru Fabrizio Romano on December 17 that the Toffees were one of the clubs interested in signing Cunha.
Nevertheless, it seems Everton are going to miss out on the Atletico Madrid forward with TalkSPORT confessing that Wolves are set to win the race for his signature.
“Wolves are set to win the race to sign Atletico Madrid forward Matheus Cunha, talkSPORT understands,” said the news outlet on Twitter.
Will the Blues rue this transfer blunder? Probably not, Cunha is out of form and overrated.

Lucky escape.
To be honest, there was always going to be a question mark surrounding the signing of Cunha and Everton may have actually got lucky this time.
The forward hasn’t been in great form since joining Atletico Madrid from Hertha Berlin and it’s up for debate whether he could come to the Premier League and hit the ground running.
Everton needs a striker who can come into Frank Lampard’s side and start banging goals straight away and the Brazilian’s iffy form suggests he might not have been the man to do this.
Still, it’s annoying that Everton looks to have been beaten out by Wolves to his signature, especially when Romano announced they were “interested” in him.
So it looks like the hunt for a fearsome forward is still well and truly on for Everton and Cunha’s name can almost be firmly crossed off the transfer list.
It will be interesting to see who Everton will target next, hopefully, they have some back up targets lined up.
