Everton unlikely to trigger Ruben Vinagre transfer with exit likely
Everton are unlikely to trigger the purchase clause to sign Ruben Vinagre permanently, according to A Bola.
Vinagre joined the Toffees on loan in the summer transfer window from Sporting Lisbon, and the Merseyside side club have the option to sign permanently for around £17.6m.
However, Vinagre has only managed four appearances so far in all competitions, and the Toffees are unlikely to meet the clause.

Vinagre may be looking for a new “professional solution” and may now want to move elsewhere to play regularly.
New left-back?
Sporting signed Vinagre from Wolverhampton Wanderers in July 2022 permanently after an initial loan spell, by paying a fee of around £8.8m.
It’s obvious that they are looking to get the best deal for him. A move to the Merseyside club hasn’t worked for him as he managed only 24 minutes of action in the Premier League.
Capable of playing as a left-back as also as a left-sided midfielder, (plus Premier League experience) Vinagre’s addition looked like a cracking piece of business.

However, Vitaliy Mykolenko has been outstanding this season for the Toffees, and he has been a regular for Frank Lampard’s side, managing 15 starts in the Premier League.
It appears that Vinagre would leave in January in search of regular games, which means the Toffees may have to sign another left-back if he moves on.
There is no chance that the Toffees will pay £17.6m to sign him permanently, and his exit looks increasingly likely. The transfer, unfortunately, has turned into a disaster for Vinagre.
