Stan Collymore predicts outcome of Everton clash v Wolves

Everton need to bounce back to winning ways when they face Wolves in the Premier League at Goodison Park on Boxing Day (26 December).

The Premier League football is back after the World Cup break, and the Toffees must get back to winning ways, having lost their last three games.

Writing his column for the Sunday People (25 December, page 54), Stan Collymore has suggested that it will be a “tense” game and predicts a 0-0 draw.

“A tense, nervous, edgy draw,” wrote Collymore on Sunday People.

Must win

The Toffees have managed just one win in their last seven games in the Premier League and they are really struggling at the moment.

They are 17th in the league table with just one point above the drop zone.

It seems like the same familiar story is unfolding before us. Last season, the Toffees narrowly survived relegation and they will not want to be in the same position once again.

Under Frank Lampard, the Toffees have struggled to win away from home, but they have done reasonably well at Goodison Park.

However, they lost against Manchester United and Leicester City at home in recent games. Lampard needs to get results at home, especially when the away form is so poor.

Wolves are winless in their last five games in the Premier League, losing four of them.

They are bottom in the Premier League at the moment, and the fixture thus holds extra importance.

These are the games the Toffees should win, and anything less than three points will be seen as a disappointment.
