Peter Reid blasts Yerry Mina as Frank Lampard shares Everton news for clash v Manchester City

Peter Reid has blasted Everton defender Yerry Mina after Frank Lampard revealed on Friday (30 December) that the defender suffered a cramp against Wolves.

The Colombian international, who has been injured for the most part of the season, appeared to have picked up a cramp in the last game and had a low-level sensation in his hamstring.

Mina will train on Friday and he will be assessed ahead of the game against Manchester City.

Everton legend Reid was unhappy with Mina after Lampard’s reveal.

“Cramp, do me a favour,” wrote Reid on Twitter in reaction to Lampard’s update on the player.

Seriously?

Mina is a good defender but he is proving to be a liability at the moment.

The Colombian defender hardly stays fit and the club is carrying baggage here.

It is hard to believe that he can’t even stay fit for two games in a row, and it becomes really difficult for any manager to trust him.

Luckily for the Toffees, Conor Coady will be available again, but the news of Mina suffering from cramps and thereby becoming a doubt for the next game is hilarious.

Everton

Everton do have loads of options in the central defensive areas, and Lampard should look to sell Mina in the January transfer window.

Along with Coady, the Toffees do have James Tarkowski, Ben Godfrey, Mason Holgate, and Michael Keane as other options, and Lampard can afford to trim the squad.

Keane is also expected to leave the club, and Lampard must sanction the departure of Mina as well. He is not adding any value to the side.
