Everton given transfer hurry up as European giants swarm over Elye Wahi
A striker is at the very top of the January priority list for Everton but they will need to get their skates on to sign one French sensation.
According to Media Foot (31 December), the Toffees are chasing after Montpellier striker Elye Wahi after the 20-year-old has started the season in red-hot form in Ligue 1.
Seven goals in 15 matches is enough to turn the biggest of clubs towards you and that has proved to be the case with Foot Mercato reporting on 2 January that Arsenal, Juventus, Tottenham, Manchester United, Manchester City and Liverpool are all on his case.

Having been expelled from Caen’s youth academy, Wahi joined Montpellier in 2020 but not without a glowing recommendation from Suresnes (the club he began at) president Pierre Ville.
“He was two or three years ahead of his peers in terms of what he could do,” he said to GOAL. “During a tournament that we hosted, I saw him score a volley with the ball falling vertically out of the sky, like watching [Zinedine] Zidane in the 2002 Champions League final, but the boy was just 11 years old!”
Such talent doesn’t become available to a club like Everton all that often and the increase in interest from the elite of the elite is as good a sign as any that the window of opportunity is rapidly closing.

Kevin Thelwell and Frank Lampard have to act extremely fast to try and get into the shop before the shutter comes slamming down on them because they don’t have the financial power to bust it open again like the others do.
Wahi could be the final piece of the attacking jigsaw for the Toffees but he won’t come to Goodison Park if Old Trafford, the Etihad and the Emirates are also viable destinations.
