Everton target Mislav Orsic closer to England transfer with Dinamo Zagreb open to sale

Everton are reportedly suitors to secure the services of Dinamo Zagreb’s left winger Mislav Orsic in the January transfer window.

According to Croatian newspaper Vecernji list [4 January, pg 39], the 30-year-old is getting closer to a move to England with an exit certainly on the cards.

It’s understood that a bid in the region of £7million would be enough for Dinamo to consider his sale in the coming weeks.

May be past it?

Everton certainly do need a player who can play as a left winger and also can be deployed in an attacking midfield position.

While Orsic is that and has scored 91 goals and assisted 40 times in 214 games for Dinamo, the level of that league is nothing in comparison to the English top flight.

He’s also scored some eye-catching goals including the one below which has been billed as “spectacular“.

The Premier League is a completely different animal in itself and for a 30-year-old to adapt, it’s not going to be as easy as if he was in his early 20s.

Orsic has not had the most remarkable of careers either in which he’s been a resounding success wherever he’s gone so we would not rush into this if we were the decision makers at Goodison Park.

While his transfer valuation is not particularly high, he’s still not what the Toffees should be looking for and quite frankly, we do not see him as an upgrade on the current eleven either.

Instead, someone like Ben Brereton Diaz from Blackburn would be an ideal fit and he should be the one they end up pursuing this month.
