Besiktas to terminate Dele Alli loan agreement early, Everton return imminent

Dele Alli is set to return to Everton early as Besiktas will look to terminate his loan at Vodafone Park in January, according to Sabah.

The 26-year-old had been sent out to Turkey after flopping at Goodison Park last season and failing to make an impact on manager Frank Lampard.

And his woes on the field have continued in Istanbul as he has also struggled to find any form for the Black and Whites who have now run out of patience with him.

Sabah, describe the England international as “one of the biggest disappointments” this season and new Besiktas boss Senol Gunes seemingly agrees with the £1.9million loan deal on course for termination.

So far this season, Alli has played just nine times for the Turkish Super League side, scoring twice, and his abysmal season looks to be heading back to British shores.

Freedom

For a couple of seasons now, Alli has looked like a man shackled within somebody else’s body and his creative spark and ingenuity have disappeared completely.

He hoped that a move away from the eyes of the British media would do him the world of good but it looks to have pushed him even further down into the dumps.

Now he has to return to Merseyside with his tails firmly tucked between his legs but this could actually be the ideal time for him to come back with a point to prove.

Frank Lampard knows his job is already very insecure and maybe he will be ready to take the plunge and give him license to do whatever he wants in the number 10 role.

That sense of freedom might be all he needs to find his best form once again and if he can do that for Everton, the rest of the squad will benefit greatly.
